Jazz en la Costa starts on Tuesday 18 July in Almuñécar’s Majuelo park.
Now in its thirty-sixth year, six world-class jazz musicians from the USA, Japan, South African and Spain are performing on each night until Sunday 23 July.
US bassist Stanley Clarke and his latest N 4Ever project are opening the event on Tuesday 18 July, followed by Japan’s Hiromi’s Sonic Wonder on Wednesday 19 July. On Thursday 20 it is the turn of Lizz Wright from South Georgia, USA.
Friday’s concert is coming from South Africa’s Abdullah Ibrahim Trio and then Superblue: Kurt Elling and Charlie Hunter from the USA are performing on Saturday 22 July.
Closing this year’s festival is Malaga-born Ernesto Aurignac with his quartet on Sunday 23 July.
All concerts begin at 10pm and take place in the outdoor setting with the stunning backdrop of San Miguel castle.
