Big week ahead as European Cricket League draws to a close

The winner of cricket's equivalent of the Champions League, once again hosted in Cártama, will be crowned next Friday

The climax of the action at the Cártama Cricket Oval is now on the horizon as the majority of the European Cricket League group stage action is brought to a close.

During the past week, Dreux (France) beat Forfarshire (Scotland) by 30 runs to win Group D last Saturday.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Group E went in favour of Roma CC (Italy). They beat Zagreb Sokol (Croatia) by a convincing 82 runs in the group final.

For the remainder of this week, CIYMS (Ireland), Punjab Lions Nicosia (Cyprus), Ariana KIF (Sweden), Istanbul KSK (Turkey) and Oeiras (Portugal) will be battling it out in Group F, the final of which will take place on Saturday.

Championship Week

From Monday until Friday next week, all of the group winners until now will face off in the so-called Championship Week.

Five games per day will take place, with action commencing at 11.30am, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

The final day, Friday, will see two qualifiers and an eliminator before the grand final at 7.30pm.

As always, entrance to the tournament is free.
