Striker Stefan Scepovic joins Malaga on a free transfer until the end of the season

There is no clause in the 31-year-old Serbian's contract which would see it automatically extended should he compete in a certain number of games

Striker Stefan Scepovic is now a Malaga player. He was officially unveiled by the club on Friday afternoon after having to wait a few days for both La Liga and the Japanese FA to sign off on the transfer.

The 31-year-old Serbian takes the place of the injured Pablo Chavarría - out for the season - to complete the Blue and Whites' eighteen-man squad.

He has signed a contract until the end of the season but there is no clause which will see it automatically extended depending on the number of matches played.

Scepovic is no stranger to Spanish football, having played for Getafe and Sporting in two spells (scoring 23 goals in the 2013-14 season), but struggling to fully establish himself. He has also represented clubs such as Celtic and Club Brugge.

According to the sources consulted, the player arrivex in good shape, even though he has been without a club for a month after being released by Japanese second division team Machida Zelvia.
