The preliminary autopsy on the body of Diana Quer, the 18-year-old woman who went missing in August 2016 in Galicia, has shown that she was strangled.

Diana's body was found on New Year's Eve in Rianxo, around fifteen kilometres from where she is believed to have been abducted.

Police were led to her body by 41- year-old José Enrique Abuín Gey, who was arrested on Christmas Day and admitted her killing to police, saying it was a traffic accident.

Abuín, known as 'El Chicle', was moved to another prison this week over fears of attacks from other inmates.

Diana was buried in Madrid on Thursday.
