The Weekend Beach Festival has today unveiled its confirmed line up for the 2022 event. Saying "this is just the beginning," they explained that more artists will be added to the bill in the coming months. The event is due to take place from 6 to 9 July next year on the beach to the west of the town as in previous years.
Despite being not going ahead in 2020 or this year due to the pandemic, Weekend Beach Festival organisers said in a press release published on Thursday that they have "not stopped working to get a spectacular lineup" for the return of the festival in 2022. In 2019, more than 150,000 attendees, or "Weekers" enjoyed the event.
The Puerto Rican rapper, producer and composer Residente, is the current headline act. His music combines alternative rap with lyrics loaded with social and political content.
Jamaican-American reggae singer and member of the Rastafari movement Tarrus Riley, will also be on the bill along with Swedish garage-rockers The Hives.
Best-selling Spanish band Izal will be performing their new songs and festival regulars like El Canijo de Jerez and Fyahbwoy will also be taking to the stage again.
The festival team has confirmed that anyone who still has tickets purchased for the 2020 festival will be able to use them in 2022.
