Flights between Malaga and the UK increase this year by 15%

Passengers wanting to travel between the Costa del Sol and the UK this year will find more options available as the total number of seats available is to increase by 15%.

"In total there are around 3.5 million seats on flights to the Costa del Sol, a third of which connect Malaga with London airports," said the president of the Costa's tourism authority, Elías Bendodo at the end of last week.

Outside London, the UK airport with the most flights to Malaga is Manchester, with 417,000 seats available.

Airports that have increased the number of flights to the Costa del Sol include Belfast (up 31%), Glasgow (up 19%), and Birmingham (up 28%).

On Friday the first passengers on the new Jet2.com flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh were welcomed with a Scottish-themed cake.
