There were two pieces of positive news for tourism this week, following the recent disappointment of Monarch airline going into liquidation.

Super Break, the short break specialist company, has announced a series of charter flights to Gibraltar from UK regional airports during July 2018. Flights will operate twice a week from Belfast International, Humberside, Exeter, Bournemouth, Durham Tees Valley and East Midlands Airport. The schedule and dates when the packages will be on sale are to be announced at a later date. Gibraltar is already one of Super Break's top ten short break destinations.

The other good news came from Easyjet, which has announced that an extra 3,272 seats will be available on routes between the UK and Gibraltar until March 2018.

Most of the extra capacity is on flights from Gatwick and Bristol to Gibraltar, thanks to Easyjet changing to planes which can carry 186 passengers.
