Spain's Correos postal service boosts its eco fleet in Andalucía

Correos, the Spanish post office service, is expanding its fleet of electric motorbikes with the incorporation in Andalucía of 127 more units of the Cargo Pro by NUUK. It is planned that the new vehicles will be incorporated in each Andalusian province during July and September. These vehicles will be added to the 141 of the same model that the company already has in the region, according to a statement from Correos.

The company is also strengthening its commitment to sustainable mobility for last-mile delivery, with the progressive incorporation of electric vehicles into its fleet. By the end of 2023, it will have more than 2,800 ecological vehicles, including 2,506 electric vehicles and 310 hybrid or ECO vans, one of the largest electric and "zero emissions" fleets in the distribution sector in Spain. The measures are part of an advancement towards the company’s goal that half of its fleet is based on alternative technologies by 2030.

At a national level, Correos is expanding its fleet of electric mopeds with the incorporation of 700 more units of this model, considered the first cybersafe vehicle after having passed rigorous tests. By the end of 2023 it will have more than 1,700 mopeds with the Cybersecurity for Vehicles certificate, after having passed the Aenor audit.

These mopeds include protection against possible attacks by cybercriminals, who can modify parameters that control the power of the engine to overheat it and cause a fire; manipulate the braking system and block it; connect to the vehicle's control unit to obtain data on the user and the routes they have taken, or steal the vehicle.
