Pablo Fornals' move to West Ham sees Malaga pocket 700,000 euros

The Londoners, who are managed by former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini, paid Villarreal 27 million euros for the 23-year-old's services

Midfielder Pablo Fornals, who played for Malaga since joining the Academy in 2012 until his move to Villarreal in 2017, has now completed a move to Premier League side West Ham.

The Londoners, who are managed by former Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini and sporting director Manuel Husillos, paid Villarreal 27 million euros for the 23-year-old's services of which 675,000 will return to the Costa del Sol club.

Malaga are benefiting from the so-called 'solidarity mechanism' which sees clubs rewarded for their development of players between the ages of 12 and 23. In this case, Malaga were entitled to 2.5 per cent.
