A hard-fought draw gives Malaga their first point in the top flight

Malaga CF's women's team fought hard for 90 minutes in a tough game against Valencia on Sunday to come away with their first point in Spain's top division, although the nil-nil draw means that the side still have to wait to score their first goal of the season.

They survived their first scare when Chelsea cleared the ball after a one-on-one with Valencia's Mari Paz. In fact it was Malaga's strong defence throughout the match that held off the insistent attack from the home side, who dominated possession.

The Liga Iberdrola takes a break this weekend and Malaga's next match will be on Sunday 14 October at home against Espanyol.
