Fire ravages bus carrying 45 people on the motorway in Marbella

No one was injured in the incident as the fire was spotted early enough to evacuate all passengers

A bus carrying 45 people was completely ravaged by flames after pulling over on the motorway after passing the Calahonda toll on Friday morning.

The episode, during which no one was injured, occurred shortly after 11am. Upon realising that the engine of the vehicle had ... caught fire, the bus driver evacuated all passengers - a group of Moroccans headed for the port of Tarifa to cross by ferry to their home country.

Two fire engines from Mijas plus a crew from Marbella attended the scene but couldn't prevent the vehicle from completely burning out.

Guardia Civil traffic officers attended the passengers and provided them with water while they waited for another bus to take them to their destination.
